Jehovah Rapha: "The Lord God Our Healer

"Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint; heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony. My soul is in deep anguish. How long, Lord, how long?" Psalm 6:2-3(NIV)

The word Rapha is used some sixty times in the Old Testament and means, “to restore, to heal, or to cure” physically, emotionally and spiritually. As David depicted in Psalm 6:2-3, sometimes we need healing in all three areas.

God has promised us in His Word that He will heal us. He is the healer of the broken heart, hurt, wounds and pain of our emotions. (Psalm 147:3)

He is the healer of sickness and disease in our physical bodies and will even extend our lives.(2 Kings 20:5-6)

He is the healer of our spirit which was defiled way back in the Garden of Eden. But because of Jesus Christ and the blood He shed for us we have access to have our hearts that are full of nothing but destruction and death restored to wholeness. (Jeremiah 17:9)

Whether you’re hurting emotionally, physically or spiritually, be assured you can turn to the Lord who Heals right now. He won't let you down.

He is Jehovah Rapha.
